Located in the northeastern part of the United States, in what is known as the Midwestern region, Ohio shares borders with Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Columbus is the state's capital and largest city. Other major cities in the state include Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo, Akron and Dayton.

It is also a leading producer of poultry and eggs, tomatoes, pumpkins, sweet cord and cucumbers.

Ohio has 14 four-year public universities with 24 branch campuses, 23 two-year community and technical colleges and more than 50 four-year private colleges and universities.
