Culinary arts span all the industries and professions that are involved with the preparation of meals, snacks, and beverages for immediate consumption. Culinary arts graduates can work in restaurants, schools, hospitals, hotels or any other establishment that requires food professionals. There are also plenty of options for self-employment. The roles vary depending on the type of food preparation.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of chefs and head cooks is expected to grow more slowly than the average for all occupations through 2022.
